Law students often discover summer employment opportunities at large corporations and local industry.  Unlike law firms, many companies do not recruit through on-campus interview programs at local law schools.  Moreover, they are more likely to advertise and extend offers closer to the beginning of the summer when their short term employment needs are known.  Networking and online research are the best way for law students to land a corporate in-house summer job.  Often, alumni of your law school will also post summer clerk positions in the career services office throughout the Spring.
